Company History
Founded by Reis Calfayan in 1983 as a custom carpentry business, Calfayan Construction has grown into an award-winning, full-service construction company. Reis joined the Bucks and Montgomery County chapter of the National Association of Remodeling Industry (NARI) in 1995 and earned his first NARI Contractor of the Year Award the following year.
In 2000, Reis and his wife, Laura, assembled a dedicated team of experienced carpenters and expert subcontractors. This evolution allows Calfayan Construction to deliver on its promise: the finest craftsmanship with customized details, guaranteed to be within budget.

Reis Calfayan
Reis is the principal owner and property manager for Calfayan Construction. His journey in construction began at age 14, where he learned historical restoration and finishing techniques from master craftsmen. Reis later served as an army veteran and became a demolition expert, even teaching demolition techniques to others.
After his military service, Reis joined an investment group focused on improving Section 8 and HUD housing. This role allowed him to master the skills needed to envision, plan, build, budget, and manage remodels, renovations, and new construction projects.
In 1983, Reis founded Calfayan Custom Carpentry, which has since evolved into Calfayan Construction. Today, he runs the company alongside his wife, Laura, and their daughter, Alyxa, with a primary focus on production, cost estimation, and sales.
Laura Calfayan
Laura serves as the president of Calfayan Construction, playing a pivotal role in the company’s success. She is deeply engaged in every aspect of the business, from overseeing sales and managing finances to fostering strong customer relationships. In addition, she provides vital project support, ensuring operations run smoothly. A passionate animal lover, Laura is the heart and soul of our team, bringing everyone together with her leadership and dedication.
Alyxa Calfayan
Alyxa, Calfayan’s dedicated and resourceful office manager, oversees accounts receivable, accounts payable, and human resources with precision. Collaborating closely with Laura, she ensures projects stay organized and on schedule.
